Get A Gorgeous Blowout at Home

Posted in 1 by beautyunder10 on March 24, 2010

I’ve done the most insane amount of research on getting a beautiful blowout at home-browsing through YouTube tutorials, asking the Paul Mitchell stylists in my area, and of course a whole lot of trial and error. And you wanna know why? The blowout is one of the most gorgeous hair looks ever, and guys seem to love it too. Here’s my how to:

Start with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner.(I use Tresemme  Smooth and Silky shampoo and conditioner, you can buy a huge bottle for $5.99, this stuff is great!)

Work a volumizing mousse through damp hear. Got2b 2 Sexy Voluptuous Volume mousse smells like Very Sexy by Victorias Secret..aka soooo good. And it gives my flat hair a ton of volume without the crunch.

Spray a heat-protector throughout hair to keep it shiny and healthy looking after you blow dry. Got2b Guardian Angel protects+ gives a glossy finish. And smells great.

Blow dry hair with a round brush.

Ok so heres where it might get a little tricky for some people but this is my main ingredient for a pretty blowout:

You’ll need some large hair rollers for this.( Conair Brush Mega Self Grip Rollers-$9.99

Take about a 2 inch section hair and straighten in. Run it through your straightener again and, while its still hot, roll it into the roller.Do this for your whole head. You can roll the roller any direction.Spray your hair with Herbal Essence Set Me Up hairspray while it’s still in the rollers.Let hair sit for about 15 minutes when youre done, then remove the rollers.

*Every product mentioned is of course under $10.

Pretty Spring Makeup-$1 apiece

Have you guys ever heard of E.L.F makeup? Its an online makeup website, and all their products are $1, with the exception of the Studio and Mineral line, where everything is under$10. I was a little skeptical about makeup thats only $1, but I ordered a few things and I LOVED them. Especially the Plumping Lip Glaze. I have a $15 lip plumper and the ELF lip plumper works 10x better.I purchased it in Baby Doll, and its the most flattering pink color! I also purchased the Shimmering Facial Whip, and I love this stuff! It smells sooo good and it works great as a blush, highlighter, bronzer,or eyeshadow.I bought it in Golden Peach and Toasted.

Check  out e.lf here.

Want Glow-ey Skin? It’s in your kitchen.

What kind of question is that?? Of course you do..

I recently made the switch to using only very gentle, very natural skin products, including on my face. I purchased a skin care line (that was def NOT under $10 so it wnt be mentioned) made with skin soothing products such as aloe and natural acne-fighting ingredients.I use the face watch and toner, and my secret for moisturizer…

Olive oil.Massaged into my face nightly.

It works WONDERS! Wanna see?

My skin FEELS better in the morning. And a good ‘ol bottle of olive oil wont break the bank.

Hey guys! Ok so, I have extremely sensitive skin, and it is a pain in the booty, lemme tell ya.If I get stressed out my whole body goes into this itching spasm and gets all red.( Ok grossed out yet?).And body washes with fragrance irritate my skin. So my derm recommended Aveeno products and can I just say that I’ve fallen in crazy, passionate love with the Skin Relief body wash..

It leaves my skin so soft, and for $8.79, I’d call it a steal.

How do you guys feel about Janet Jackson’s nail color?

Posted in 1 by beautyunder10 on March 23, 2010

I’m kind of loving it but it really reminds me of the color my older sister used to wear in the ’90’s. So maybe its just nostalgia :). What do yall think?

OH, and I am LOVING her bronzer application. It was applied right under her cheeks and then up to her ears, with alot of blending.

Her Look For Less- Amanda Seyfried on the Cover of Glamour

Posted in 1 by beautyunder10 on March 4, 2010

Check out how incredibly gorgeous, girl-next-door-ey Amanda Seyfried looked in Glamour magazine.Swoon!

I love how her incredibly laid-back outfit is contrasted by that fierce eye makeup. Do you love it? Heres my makeup how- to and  $10 (per piece!)version of the outfit:

Forever21 skinny jeans– $9.50

Charlotte Russe baseball tee– $4.49

See how tight and smooth the shirt clings to her? Wear a tight, thin cami underneath like this one to achieve that smooth look. I wear one under all my shirts and I swear it takes a couple pounds off!

and for the makeup..

Super easy..I lined my eyes wih a dark brown eye liner pecnil on the top only. then, I aplied lots of shimmery black eyeshadow in an almond shape, winging it out on the ends. On the bottom of my eye, I used by forefinger to smear on black eye shadow. And for the nude lip, I applied a sheer pink gloss, then patted on a light face powder on my bottom lip. What do you think?

Under $10 Product Review-Maybelline Lash Stilleto

Posted in Under$10 reviews by beautyunder10 on March 3, 2010

Dear readers, this is like an ice cream sundae for your eyelashes.

I absolutely love this mascara! If you want the length to really stretch and hold all day long, I would recommend buying it in waterproof, especially if you have thin lashes. However, this product is strictly for length, not too much volume was there. Check it out, along with my how-to:

after

How to: Curl lashes, then  hold the mascara wand diagonally to reach all the lashes, and WIGGLE THE WAND from root and especially on the tips.Amazing huh?

You can purchase it here.
